The Tsogo Sun Moves for Life Management Team recently undertook a fruitful visit to the Western Cape from 13 – 17 May 2015
During the visit the TSMFL Management Team had the opportunity to meet with several dignitaries in the Cape Town and the surrounding area. These included the Chief Director of Sport and Recreation for the Western Cape Mr. Lyndon Bouah and School Enrichment Co-ordinator of the West Coast Education District Mrs. Ronel Beukes.
A meeting with Arcelor Mittal in Vredenburg was held regarding their partnership with TSMFL to conduct a successful Chess Tournament in the West Coast area, which is scheduled for September 2015.
The visit was also an opportunity to meet and touch-base with the Manager of Tsogo Sun Club Mykonos, sponsor of TSMFL on the West Coast, Mr. Clive van Groenigen and the TSMFL tutors of the West Coast District, Mr. Basil Ellman and Mr. Andre Milfordt. These gentlemen are responsible for all 19 primary schools in the Vredenburg/Langebaan area, where the MiniChess™ educational programme is implemented in the Gr. 1-2 classes as integrated within the CAPS curriculum.
The St. Augustine’s Primêr School in the picturesque west coast fishing village of Paternoster has become the latest educational institution to embrace the TSMFL programme ; TSMFL welcomes them and is excited about the successful roll-out of the MiniChess™ programme in their school!
