Tsogo Sun Moves for Life recently conducted an extensive Level 2 training program at the Maphala-gulube Primary School in Secunda, Mpumalanga with 65 Grade 2 & 3 teachers from the Embalenhle township near Secunda.
Tsogo Sun Moves for Life have been actively involved in this community since August 2013 championing a project that reaches in excess of 7000 scholars at 17 different schools in the region. The Tsogo Sun Moves for Life program in this region is sponsored by Sasol
The Maphala-gulube Primary School was an intuitive of former South African president, the late Nelson Mandela’s private campaign for rural development and was one of two schools built by Sasol in the Vaal Triangle and completed in 2000.
Sasol chairman Paul Kruger said the schools were the company’s gift to needy communities.
“We are committed to developing partnerships with community members in the areas where we do business to improve their quality of life,” Kruger said.
“Sasol looks forward to the day when we can employ former learners from these schools.”
“The area in which we work is unique in its diversity” and enthusiastic Maritjie Janse van Vuuren said recently, ” while working with people from various cultural back grounds, who speak a variety of languages we find common ground in the game of Chess with its vast benefits in Children’s education”
A further unique feature in the Mpumalanga region’s program is the “special educational needs school” Osizweni LSEN in Leandra which has also embraced the Tsogo Sun Moves for Life program with great success.
Tsogo Sun Moves for Life thanks Sasol for their sponsorship at the Maphala-gulube Primary School in Secunda and appreciation to Maritje Janse van Vuuren and Tutors Rebecca Mphosi & Janette Mazibuku for their passion and dedication to this project.
