TSMFL systematic transformation of several SA Schools – Visit to Langebaan

Using CHESS as a tool, Tsogo Sun Moves for Life is busy with the systematic transformation of several South African Schools.

Playing the game of chess is essential for transforming a child into a responsible, disciplined, and wise citizen.

For years, chess has been considered as a game played only by intellectuals and individuals with critical thinking abilities.

However, the fact is that chess can be played by people of all age groups and mind-sets. Chess is extremely helpful in brain development, particularly when it is played regularly from a very early age.

Amanda Fourie and Christelle Kok of TSMFL paid a visit to some of the schools in the Langebaan region. Tsogo Sun Club Mykonos is the official sponsor of the MiniChess program that is being implemented in this area.

Here Amanda is with Mr. Donny Jacobs of Laerskool Jurie Hayes where approximately 450 learners are being introduced and taught how to play chess.

Here we see Wyna Roestorff – the TSMFL, Mossel Bay Regional Coordinator.

Wyna trained the Grade 1 teachers from 19 primary schools of Langebaan and vicinity. We are looking forward to some amazing results by the learners of the schools in the Langebaan district. The Mayor of Langebaan attended a part of the training to demonstrate his support of this project.
